Vol. 563 No. 4

Written Answers - Hospital Services.

David Stanton

Question:

493 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Health and Children if essential orthopaedic appliances are made available to a person (details supplied) in County Cork who suffers from cerebral palsy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8177/03]

The provision of technical aids and appliances including orthopaedic appliances to people with physical and sensory disabilities is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Southern Health Board, with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
