Vol. 564 No. 1

Written Answers - Regional Fisheries Boards.

Noel Grealish

Question:

212 Mr. Grealish asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the amount it costs to operate the Galway Fisheries Board since 1993; if he will provide a copy of the accounts from 1993 to 2002; the profit the board made in the past nine years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8974/03]

I presume the Deputy is referring to the Western Regional Fisheries Board, which is a non-commercial body established under the Fisheries Acts and is responsible for the management, protection, conservation and development of fisheries in the western region, including County Galway. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to forward details of the board's accounts for the period in question directly to the Deputy.
