Question:

66 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of appeals which have been heard by the REP scheme appeal board to date; the number of cases in which the person has been successful; the figures of same for County Clare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11331/03]

The total number of decisions taken by the REPS appeals committee to date is approximately 2,200. Of that number, 504 appeals were successful and a further 272 were partially successful. The latter represent appeals against multiple penalties where one or more individual pen alties were removed on appeal. A total of 175 decisions were issued on appeals for County Clare, 35 of which were successful and 21 partially successful.
