Vol. 569 No. 3

Written Answers. - Middle East Peace Process.

Aengus Ó Snodaigh

Question:

208 Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs further to Parliamentary Question No. 23 of 17 June 2003, if the Government has made separate and independent representations to the State of Israel on this matter; if the Government merely endorses the EU position; and if the Government has not made separate representations in addition to endorsing the EU position, the reason therefor. [17640/03]

As I stated in my reply to the Deputy's earlier question, the Presidency statement on the incident in question fully reflected the position of the Government of Ireland. Ireland's disapproval of targeted assassinations and extra-judicial killings in general are well known to the Government of Israel. I have made no separate representations to the Government of Israel on the case in question.
