331 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Health and Children the progress to date on the proposed new community hospital for Tuam, County Galway; the change which will be made as a result of the recent announcement concerning the rationalisation of the health service; if it is still Government policy to build this hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As I indicated in reply to a recent parliamentary question on the subject, the planning brief submitted by the Western Health Board is still being considered in the context of national development plan funding available to my Department and the board. That position has not changed.
