Vol. 569 No. 3

Written Answers. - Donegal Bus Services.

Fergus O'Dowd

Question:

364 Mr. O'Dowd asked the Minister for Transport his imminent plans for the Lough Swilly bus services in the Fanad-Rathmullen areas. [17703/03]

I refer the Deputy to the reply, given by me to Question No. 76 on 18 June 2003.

The Londonderry and Lough Swilly Railway Company has since advised my Department that it has taken a decision not to proceed with the withdrawal of bus services on 30 June in the light of the ongoing discussions between it and Bus Éireann aimed at developing appropriate arrangements for the continuing provision of bus transport services in north-west Donegal.

I am sure that the company's decision will be welcomed by all concerned, particularly those who use the service involved, including local people and tourists.

Questions Nos. 365 to 367, inclusive, answered with Question No. 357.
