Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government if he plans to introduce legislative measures to ban the planting in dense urban areas of unsuitable fast growing pine trees which grow to enormous heights and create serious difficulties for neighbours; if he intends to introduce obligations on persons who own very large fast growing trees to restrict their height in some way related to the nearest adjoining residence; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
