163 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Galway cannot be seen for an important operation at the ENT unit at University College Galway Hospital; the reasons for the delay; and if this person's case will be expedited. [27988/03]

The provision of hospital services for persons resident in County Mayo is a matter for the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position and to reply directly to the Deputy.
