I suggest that we should now take item No. 4 on the Order Paper—Dublin City and County (Relief of the Poor) Bill, 1929. If we dispose of that Bill now, we will have plenty of time to deal with the Committee Stage of the Juries Bill later.
Business of the Seanad.
Cathaoirleach
In view of the number of amendments to the Juries (Protection) Bill that have still to be disposed of, it has been suggested to me that some extra time should be given for the consideration of that Bill. Therefore I am going to ask the House to sit late this evening and continue consideration of it. The suggestion is that we should adjourn at 7 o'clock and resume at 8.15, if the House is agreeable to that course.
I do not think that is agreed. It is not agreed on our side.
Cathaoirleach
Then I will have to take the opinion of the House on the matter. I may say in reference to that, that I have got pretty general agreement from amongst a number of members.
Very well, then.
Cathaoirleach
Then the understanding is that we adjourn at 7 and resume at 8.15. The Bill that Senator Fanning has referred to is a very important one. Within the last few minutes a number of amendments, which I consider are purely drafting amendments, have been handed in to this Bill. These will be circulated to Senators during the sitting. I propose taking up the Committee Stage of this Bill at a quarter to seven this evening. The Bill is not a controversial one, and it is hoped that the House may be able to dispose of it before we take the adjournment at seven. Is the House agreed on that?
Agreed.
