We have had a lengthened discussion on amendments Nos. 4 and 5 to-day, and before we adjourn I would like to remind the House of the understanding come to— that the Committee Stage of this Bill should be concluded this week, and that the Report and Final Stages should be concluded next Wednesday. The normal period allowed under the Constitution for the consideration of the Bill by the Seanad will expire on that day. Might I, therefore, suggest to Senators that speeches on the outstanding amendments should be abbreviated somewhat in order that the Committee Stage may be concluded by Friday of this week, and the remaining stages next Wednesday. It would appear to me that if the programme for this week is to be carried out, the House will meet to-morrow from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and must meet at 10.30 a.m. on Friday and sit until the Committee Stage is concluded
