Seanad Éireann debate -

Vol. 162 No. 22

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator O'Meara that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to clarify when the social economy programmes will be initiated; how the programmes will operate in practice; and the implications these programmes will have for the numbers engaged in community employment schemes.

I have also received notice from Senator Lanigan of the following matter:

The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on the extraordinary lack of investment in industry in Kilkenny, particularly in the light of a recent company closure there and the further loss of 45 more jobs.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
