I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Catherine Ardagh - The need for the Taoiseach to make a statement on the establishment of a south city initiative to support the long-term economic and social regeneration of the area, similar to the north east inner city initiative launched in 2016.

Senator Garret Ahearn - The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for special education and inclusion to make a statement on the steps being taken to ensure that HSE therapeutic supports and services for children with special needs are fit for purpose.

Senator Michael McDowell - The need for the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications to outline whether he has indicated his consent to the sale or disposal of the post office in Rathmines pursuant to section 8.22 of the code of practice for the governance of State bodies.

Senator Aisling Dolan - The need for the Minister for Transport to provide an update on the progress of the Galway to Athlone cycleway.

Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs to make a statement on the ongoing protests in Georgia and to reiterate Ireland's support for Georgia's path to accession to EU membership.

Senator Tom Clonan - The need for the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to make a statement on the uniformity of supports provided to students with additional needs in third-level education, with specific regard to the National College of Art and Design.

Senator Robbie Gallagher - The need for the Minister for Education to increase funding for the 2024 summer programme due to the significant increase in numbers participating in the programme nationwide.

Senator Seán Kyne - The need for the Minister for Transport to provide an update on plans for a bypass or relief road for Baile Chláir - Claregalway, Contae na Gaillimhe.

Senator Tim Lombard - The need for the Minister for Health to review the recent changes made to the HSE home support services in the Cork region.

Senator Maria Byrne - The need for the Minister for Transport to allocate funding to Limerick City and County Council for national, regional and local road improvement schemes and for the sound barriers and protection of the 2 km stretch on the Limerick to Foynes railway line.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and I have selected Senators Ardagh, Ahearn, McDowell and Dolan and they will be taken now.

The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
