219. Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Education and Skills if a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan will be awarded the non-adjacent rate of the higher education grant, as their home is 47 kilometres from their place of study, rather than the adjacent rate previously indicated. Officials in my Department have confirmed with SUSI, the new centralised grant awarding authority, that the distance in the case referred to by the deputy is currently under review and the student will be notified directly of the outcome.
