Deputy Neasa Hourigan asked the Minister for Health his views on a hospital (details supplied) failing to give its nurses the same sick leave entitlements as those in the public service in which Covid-19 sick leave is not deducted from the normal sick leave record of a person; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Guidance has been provided by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform (DPER) to assist Public Service Employers in relation to working arrangements and leave associated with COVID-19. These guidelines cover all possible situations for all public sector employees.

As the hospital the Deputy is referring to is a private employer, its employee terms and conditions are outside of my remit.
