Deputy Cian O'Callaghan asked the Minister for Education further to Parliamentary Question No. 667 of 17 January 2024, if she will provide a map in pdf form of the school planning areas that make up the constituency of Dublin bay north; and if she will make a statement on the matter. In order to plan for school provision and analyse the relevant demographic data, my Department divides the country into 314 school planning areas and uses a Geographical Information System, using data from a range of sources, including CSO Census data, Child Benefit and school enrolment data, to identify where the pressure for school places across the country will arise and where additional school accommodation is needed at primary and post-primary level.

The constituency of Dublin Bay North covers a number of  school planning areas including:

• Killester_Raheny_Clontarf,

• Donaghmede_Howth_D13,

• Beaumont_CoolockD5,

• Darndale_D17, and

• Drumcondra_Marino_D1

The Department has undertaken to make SPA maps available and they can be found online at the link below.
