17 Apr 2012, 12:04

Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Joe Costello, TD will attend the meeting of the Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade tomorrow, Wednesday 18th April for the review of the White Paper on Irish Aid.

Committee Chairman, Pat Breen TD said: “A review of the White Paper on Irish Aid was announced in June 2011, following a commitment set down in the Programme for Government. The review is looking at the progress made by Irish Aid and the changing national and international context. It will help to shape policy direction for the coming years.

The Committee is delighted to have a role in contributing to this review. Tomorrow we will meet with Minister of State Costello to discuss the Government’s priorities for Ireland’s role in international co-operation, including aid policy.”

The meeting with Minister Costello will start in Committee Room 1 at 2.30pm on Wednesday, 18th April.
