The Oireachtas Joint Committee on European Union Affairs will meet with Joe Costello TD, Minister of State with responsibility for Trade and Development Minister Costello will discuss with the Committee a review of the White Paper on Irish Aid.
The review was announced in June 2011, following a commitment set down in the Programme for Government.
Dominic Hannigan TD continued: “Minister Costello, as former Chairman of this Committee, is highly aware of the positive impact that the European Union, has played in the developing world. The review will take account of current policy development of the world’s largest donor and the Committee Members look forward to engaging with Minister Costello on this key review of our Government’s aid programme tomorrow.”
The presentation by Minister of State Costello will take place at approximately 11a.m. following an address by SDLP MP Margaret Ritchie on the Fiscal Treaty. Committee proceedings can be viewed online via this link: http://bit.ly/24YmPI
