Joint Committee on Health to meet for consideration of issues relating to ambulance services in particular the recruitment and retention of personnel and response times

The Joint Committee on Health will meet on, Wednesday, 22nd February for consideration of issues relating to ambulance services in particular the recruitment and retention of personnel and response times at 9:30am in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House. 

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Seán Crowe TD said “the Committee will discuss Ireland’s national ambulance service tomorrow with the bodies that provide the service. We will hear the perspectives of the National Ambulance Service and from Dublin Fire Brigade on the very real challenges arising – including the ever-increasing number of calls received by them, and the task of prioritising and responding to them in an effect manner.

We will seek to gain insight into what actions both the National Ambulance Service and Dublin Fire Brigade are pursuing to ensure that the ambulance service throughout the State are fit for purpose and deliver the required service for patients.”
