asked the Minister for Supplies why a licence to export wooden potato boxes was refused and a licence to export wooden furniture granted on the 24th August, 1940, and what were the grounds for the distinction in the treatment of these two applications.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export of Wooden Potato Boxes.
I am unable to agree that the licensing of exports of furniture and of wooden boxes is governed by similar considerations. In the particular case to which the Deputy refers a licence for the exportation of potato boxes was refused on the 2nd August, 1940. Subsequently the same applicant made a more complete presentation of the circumstances of his case, and an export licence was granted to him on 11th instant.
