asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state what is the present position in regard to the proposed housing schemes for the villages of Glin, Mountcollins, Foynes, Kildimo, Adare and Castlemahon, and when work is likely to commence in connection with the erection of houses at these centres.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Limerick Housing Schemes.
The position is as follows:—
Glin.—Negotiations are nearing completion for the purchase of a site of about six acres which will accommodate the full housing needs of the area.
Foynes. —The council are negotiating for the purchase of a site of about four and a half acres. This site has been approved and details as to purchase price are now awaited.
Kildimo, Adare, Castlemahon, Mountcollins.—The council have failed to obtain suitable sites in these areas by agreement and have accordingly proposed proceeding by way of compulsory purchase Order.
Pending the acquisition of sites I am not in a position to state when work is likely to commence on schemes for these areas.
