The net amount borrowed by the Government from 1st July, 1969, to 30th September, 1971, was £235 million of which £195.4 million was from domestic sources and £39.6 million from foreign sources.

The total amount of interest paid from 1st July, 1969, to 30th September, 1971, was £138.1 million of which £130.0 million was paid on domestic debt and £8.1 million was paid on foreign debt.
