Vol. 265 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Drug Centre.

29.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that there is considerable dissatisfaction among some psychiatric nursing staff about the overcrowded conditions at the Drug Treatment Centre, Dundrum, Dublin; and what proposals there are for improving the situation.

This is primarily a matter for the Eastern Health Board. I am advised that there is not overcrowding in the Drug Treatment Centre, Dundrum, but that difficulties have arisen regarding staffing and that discussions are taking place between the unions concerned and the Eastern Health Boards. It is understood the Health board has formulated proposals which are to be put before the unions. I have received no proposals in the matter.
