Vol. 500 No. 7

Written Answers. - Architectural Heritage.

Enda Kenny

Ceist:

345 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if a full report on the condition of Shrule Abbey, County Mayo, will be commissioned; if her attention has been drawn to loose stones in the abbey walls; if she will arrange for repair work to be carried out as soon as possible; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5103/99]

Shrule Abbey is a national monument in State care which has been inspected recently. Following that inspection, essential works, specifically pointing of the walls, will be carried out in April next.
