Vol. 504 No. 2

Written Answers. - Adult Education.

John Perry

Ceist:

344 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be approved for a course in view of the fact that he is a mature student and was never called for assessment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11708/99]

On the basis of the information supplied by the Deputy, my officials contacted both NUI Maynooth and Trinity College Dublin in relation to an application from the person concerned.

The position in relation to NUI Maynooth is that the college requests mature applicants to forward a CV and two references directly to the college before 1 February of the year of application. To date the college has not received any such material from the person concerned. Similarly, the position in relation to Trinity College, Dublin is that the college requests mature students to apply directly to the college as well as to the CAO. I understand that no application has been received by TCD from the person concerned.
