127 Mr. Hogan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when she will implement the new EU directive that will give employees the right to be informed about the economic health of a business under the EU workers rights and business directive; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [18845/02]

The EU directive establishing a general framework for informing and consulting employees in the European Community was adopted by the member states on 23 March 2002. It is proposed to implement the directive by the deadline of 23 March 2005, as prescribed in Article 11 therein.
