Adjournment Debate Matters.

An Leas-Cheann Comhairle:

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Olivia Mitchell – to ask the Minister for Health and Children to outline what action he is taking to establish clear responsibility for enforcing the law in respect of the practice of medicine by unqualified personnel and to explain, and prevent a recurrence of, the situation whereby all relevant agencies failed to respond to protect the public from the ministrations of an impostor posing as a GP; (2) Deputy James Breen – the closure of the Graham & Heslip factory in the Gort Road industrial estate, Ennis, with the loss of 42 jobs; (3) Deputy Keaveney – the need to explain the delay in the opening of the new Garda station in Muff, County Donegal; (4) Deputy Brendan Smith – the urgent need to attract a new industry and additional job opportunities to County Cavan in view of recent job losses; (5) Deputy Pat Breen – the abrupt closure of the Graham & Heslip Company in Ennis with the loss of 42 jobs; (6) Deputy Cooper-Flynn – to ask the Minister for Transport to examine the inadequate allocation of funds to Connacht by the National Roads Authority under the 2003 national roads allocations and to hear his proposals on the matter; (7) Deputy Breeda Moynihan-Cronin – the reason the Southern Health Board has been instructed to reduce the availability of home help in County Kerry; (8) Deputy Cassidy – to ask the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources to review the management plan for Lough Sheelin, Derravaragh, and the River Inny with particular regard to charges being levied on users; (9) Deputy Deenihan – the lack of funding for new service development in 2003 in County Kerry for children and adults with intellectual disabilities resulting in serious hardship for those affected; (10) Deputy Hayes – the need for the Minister for Health and Children, Deputy Martin, to clarify proposed plans for the withdrawal of maternity services from St. Joseph's Hospital in Clonmel, County Tipperary; (11) Deputy Stanton – to ask the Minister for Education and Science to clarify the position regarding dual enrolment as a matter of urgency for special needs and autistic children who attend special schools and who also need to be integrated into mainstream primary schools nationally.

The matters raised by Deputies James Breen, Pat Breen, Brendan Smith and Breeda Moynihan-Cronin have been selected for discussion.
