251 Deputy Seán Sherlock asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government when funding will be made available to allow construction of a new waste water treatment plant at Rathcormac, County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2654/09]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Rathcormac Water and Sewerage Scheme is included for funding under the Serviced Land Initiative measure of my Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2007-2009. Work on the water supply element of the scheme has been completed and the waste water collection system is under construction. My Department is examining an application for increased funding submitted by Cork County Council in advance of awarding the contract for the wastewater treatment plant. A decision on the application will be conveyed to the Council as soon as possible.
