152. Deputy Mattie McGrath asked the Minister for Transport the efforts that are being made to simplify the language used within the driver theory test to accommodate applicants that have learning and language difficulties; if he will review the driver theory test in terms of its accessibility for those with learning difficulties and disabilities (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under legislation, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) is the body responsible for the operation of the Theory Test and my Department has no involvement in creating the test material or the operation of the test. I have therefore referred the question to the Authority for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
