184. Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Transport if a bus service (details supplied) will be reinstated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2827/24]
Amharc ar fhreagraAs Minister for Transport, I am responsible for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in day-to-day operational matters. The National Transport Authority (NTA) has statutory responsibility for securing the provision of public passenger transport services nationally and for the scheduling of these services in conjunction with the relevant transport operators, in this case Bus Éireann. I have, therefore, forwarded the Deputy's question in relation to the curtailment of the 279 bus from Cahersiveen to Killarney to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
