Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade to discuss the European External Action Service

The Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade will meet at 2.30 p.m., tomorrow Wednesday 12 October 2011 to discuss the European External Action Service with Mr. David O’Sullivan, CEO of the service.

Committee Chairman, Pat Breen TD said “I look forward to hearing from Mr O’Sullivan on the advancements made by the  EEAS in recent months as it supports the work of the EU High Representative in her broad external mandate, including conducting the EU’s common foreign and security policy as mandated by the Council. This meeting will allow the Committee to discuss and to be briefed regarding the many facets of the EEAS and the progress made to date since its inception.”
