Andrew Doyle, TD, Chairman of the Committee on Communications, Natural Resources and Agriculture is in Brussels today, Wednesday, 19th October to discuss the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) with EU Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Maria Damanaki.
The Chairman is joined by other Members of the Committee:
Noel Harrington, TD, (Fine Gael)
Brian Ó Domhnaill, (Fianna Fail)
Thomas Pringle, (Independent)
The delegation will attend an EU Commission Conference on the Common Fisheries Policy where they will hear an address from Commissioner Damanaki and have an opportunity to exchange views and question the Commissioner on the CFP. Committee Chairman, Andrew Doyle, TD said: “Our participation at this meeting gives us an opportunity to discuss the effects and impact of the CFP in Member States and coastal regions. It is important that Ireland has a voice and uses that voice on behalf of our people who are employed and involved in the fishing and maritime sectors in Ireland.”
