Vol. 245 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Manufacture of Cement.

93.

asked the Minisster for Industry and Commerce if he has any observations to make on the current monopoly position of Cement Ltd. in the manufacture and distribution of cement in the Republic.

I have already indicated to another company that I am prepared to grant them a licence under the Cement Acts to manufacture cement.

Could the Minister give the name of that company?

I think we all know it.

Then it is hardly necessary to answer the Deputy's question.

It is well known.

Why should there be only two firms in the country licensed to make cement?

Maybe there are only two who have made application for this.

Could the Minister give us the name of the company?

Roadstone Ltd. It has been published in the press.
