Vol. 350 No. 4

Written Answers. - Clondalkin (Dublin) Site Subsidy Payments.

550.

asked the Minister for the Environment if the site subsidies payable in respect of the Ashwood Estate, Clondalkin, County Dublin, can now be paid; and the present position in this regard.

The payment of private site subsidy to housing authorities is conditional, inter alia, on the sites being sold at a price that is not less than the cost of acquisition and development reduced by the amount of the subsidy.

A claim for payment of site subsidy was submitted by Dublin County Council in respect of a number of schemes including Bawnogue A and B which, it is understood, includes the Ashwood Estate. From the information submitted it appears that the scheme as a single unit does not qualify for subsidy as the sale price condition referred to above has not been met. The county council were informed of the position in this respect on 18 April and were asked to submit information that might show that the conditions related to the payment of the subsidy had been fulfilled in relation to individual phases or sections of the scheme. To date the information has not been received.
