asked the Minister for Health the conditions governing free dental treatment for EC residents living in Ireland.
Written Answers. - Dental Treatment for EC Residents.
Persons resident in Ireland who are in receipt of a social security pension from another member state of the EC and who are not employed or self-employed in Ireland and who are not in receipt of a pension from the Department of Social Welfare are eligible to receive dental treatment free of charge, by arrangement with the local health board.
Residents of other member states who are on temporary stay in Ireland are also entitled to receive urgent dental treatment free of charge, again by arrangement with the local health board.
Persons travelling between member states would be well advised to have in their possession a Form E111 (obtainable in Ireland from the local health board) as this greatly facilitates access to medical and dental services in other member states.
