Phil Hogan

Question:

258 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Health and Children when the necessary capital funding will be provided to the South Eastern Health Board for the provision of a home for the elderly in Kilkenny city; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18310/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 211 and 258 together.

The proposal for the development of a community nursing unit at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny is on the priority list of projects to be undertaken by the South Eastern Health Board during the period of the national development plan. Discussions between officials of my Department and representatives of the South Eastern Health Board are planned with a view to establishing timescales for the progression of the board's proposals.
