Question:

269 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has issued regulations concerning the erection of posters during elections and referendums; if these regulations or directives include a requirement that those responsible for the erection of such posters be identified by having names or titles printed on the posters; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31715/01]

Section 140 of the Electoral Act, 1992 which also applies at a referendum, provides that every notice, bill, poster or similar document having reference to an election or referendum or distributed for the purpose of furthering the candidature of a candidate at an election or a particular result at a referendum shall bear upon its face the name and address of the printer and of the publisher.
