Question:

126 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the shortage of funding for the housing aid for the elderly grant scheme in the North Western Health Board area; and when further funding will be made available for same. [13951/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 125 and 126 together.

An allocation of €888,817 for 2002 was initially made to the North Western Health Board by the task force on special housing aid for the elderly who, under the aegis of my Department, administer the scheme. A further allocation of €90,514, from the balance of the funding which is available for 2002, was notified to the health board on 10 June.
