Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach to meet with Revenue Commissioners

The Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, May 15, for an engagement with representatives from the Office of the Revenue Commissioners, led by the Chairman, Mr Niall Cody.

Speaking ahead of the meeting at 1.30pm in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy John McGuinness said: “The Office of the Revenue Commissioners is responsible for the collection of taxes, duties and other levies and charges, and for their prompt transfer, either to the Central Fund of the Exchequer or to other fund accounts or public bodies.

“The Committee welcomes this engagement with Mr Cody and his colleagues and looks forward to a wide-ranging discussions on Revenue matters, including warehoused debt, VAT issues, Corporate Tax resilience, the classification of employment, and breakdown of private pension tax relief by gender and income.”

The Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
