The constitutional future of the island of Ireland
Contemplating the future of our island will require an all-of-society approach to deliberations from the local to the all-island, with multiple channels of accountability and feedback between citizens and policy makers in various arenas of discussion, especially as citizens are less concerned with issues such as institutional forms or models and more concerned with fundamental matters that affect them on a daily basis.

The future of local democracy
A key recommendation from the Committee following its in-depth examination of challenges facing local government is the establishment of a local democracy task force.
Further recommendations refer to the composition of the proposed task force, the need to review the financing of local government, potential supports for councillors and changes to the powers and functions of local authorities.
