Vol. 4 No. 22

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. [ORAL ANSWERS.] - ARREST AND COURTMARTIAL TRIAL.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he can state the reasons, if any, why James Lynch, Trim, who was arrested and tried by Court-martial recently in company with the prisoner Crieghton, released on July 18th, has not yet been released; and whether the Minister will now cause this prisoner's release.

A decision has just been reached in the case of Lynch. His release has been recommended, and will take place forthwith.

Can the Minister explain now why he has not been released already when he was found not guilty by the Court-martial?

Because the case had not been satisfactorily investigated from the point, of view of the military authorities.
