Vol. 7 No. 6

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT (CO. LIMERICK).

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state what unemployment benefit Mr. Michael Ward, of Caherally, Grange, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick, is entitled to under the Unemployment Insurance Acts, and whether he is aware that this man was employed under the Limerick Co. Council and was discharged on the 5th March, 1924, receiving only £2 12s. Od. from the Limerick Exchange.

Michael Ward, of Caherally, Grange, Co. Limerick, applied for an unemployed book and lodged a claim to unemployment benefit and to increased benefit for his wife and four children on the 7th March, 1924. On his claim he stated that he was employed with the Limerick County Council from the 1st December, 1923, to the 1st March, 1924, and the thirteen stamps affixed to his unemployment book in respect of this employment are the only contributions paid for him. Benefit at the the rate of 24s. per week was paid for 13 days in the statutory proportion of one day's benefit to each contribution to his credit. He has, therefore, received all the benefit to which he is entitled under the Unemployment Insurance Acts.
