Vol. 7 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - KILKENNY UNTENANTED LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether the Land Commission propose to acquire for distribution to landless men and small holders any of the untenanted lands of the Bessborough Estate, near Piltown, Co. Kilkenny, which are now being sold by the owner.

The landlord of the estate referred to has lodged with the Land Commission particulars to enable the Commission to collect compounded arrears of rent and payment in lieu of rent from the tenants under the Land Act, 1923. The further particulars to enable the purchase of the estate to proceed have not yet been lodged. When these particulars have been lodged and the estate is being dealt with in due course, the matter will be considered.
