Vol. 8 No. 7

LOCAL ELECTIONS POSTPONEMENT (AMENDMENT) BILL—REPORT.

I am sorry to have to announce that the Minister for Local Government is ill, and that I have been asked to take charge of this particular business for him. Accordingly, I move:—"That the Local Elections Postponement (Amendment) Bill be received for final consideration."

In view of the sickness of the Minister, which I regret, I will not take the steps which I proposed to take—I desired to oppose the Bill at every Stage. I hope the Minister will soon be well.

Question—"That the Local Elections Postponement (Amendment) Bill be received for final consideration"— put and agreed to.

Is there any objection to taking the Fifth Stage of the Bill now?

Agreed.

Question—"That the Local Elections Postponement (Amendment) Bill do now pass"—put and agreed to.
