Vol. 10 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - NEWCASTLE WEST DISTRICT COUNCIL AUDIT.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that the accounts of the Newcastle West District Council have not been audited for the years 1922, 1923, and 1924, and if he can state what is the reason of the delay.

These accounts have not been submitted to the auditor in satisfactory form, and delay has resulted. I am not satisfied proper attention has been given to their duties by the local officials. The matter will be specially looked into, and if necessary the officers responsible will be dismissed.

Will the Minister see that the accounts are audited before the coming Local Government election?

I will speak to the Minister for Local Government about it.
