Vol. 10 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CORK PRINTING PLANT.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that essential parts of printing machinery were taken from the premises of Mr. Robert Lankford, trading as Lee Press, South Terrace, Cork, by the Army, about two years ago; further, that the absence of these parts prevents him executing certain classes of work which it had been customary for him to undertake prior to the seizure, and that if he had these parts he could employ more men, and whether steps will be taken to have these machine parts returned, or grant compensation for same.

Parts of the printing machinery in question are in the Engineer Stores at Collins Barracks, Cork. They will be returned to Mr. Lankford on his applying for them to the General Officer Commanding the Southern Command at Cork. An application in the matter does not appear to have been received in my Department previous to the Deputy's question.
