Vol. 10 No. 15

CEISTEANNA.—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - MEAT SUPPLY TO GALWAY HOSPITAL.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he has seen reports in the Press containing allegations made as to the quality of meat supplied to the Central Hospital, Galway, and also as to the want of cleanliness in the institution, and if he can state what is the price paid for the meat, and the quality contracted for, and if he proposes to make any inquiries into the statements.

I have not seen the reports referred to, although it appears from the minutes of the Galway County Board of Health that some of the meat which was not satisfactory was returned to the contractors. I am making inquiries into the matter in regard to price and quality, and I shall inform the Deputy of the result.
