Vol. 11 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - POSITION OF DISTRICT COURT CLERK (BLARNEY).

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that J. O'Halloran has been dismissed from the position of District Court Clerk for the district of Blarney, and if he will state the reason for same.

I am aware of Mr. O'Halloran's dismissal. I expressly authorised this dismissal in the public interest in view of reports from official sources as to Mr. O'Halloran's associations.

Mr. O'Halloran's appointment was a temporary appointment made by me at pleasure and terminable by me at pleasure.

I would like to ask the Minister if there was any question of dishonesty or inefficiency in the discharge of his duties?

There was no question of dishonesty or inefficiency in the discharge of his duties.
