Vol. 16 No. 17

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - LOSS BY INTERNMENT.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he has received a claim for compensation from Thomas McCarthy, 18 Thomas's Terrace, Dungarvan, for loss caused by internment and for injuries received during internment, and if he will state when his claim will be settled.

An application for compensation by the person named by the Deputy was received by the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee. After careful consideration of all the facts of the case the Committee were of opinion that the application was not one which could be dealt with by them in accordance with their terms of reference. The Committee has long since ceased to function and there are no funds available out of which compensation could be paid in this case.
