Vol. 19 No. 2

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DECLARATION OF ALLEGIANCE.

asked the Minister for Defence whether it is the practice for civilian craftsmen employed casually for short periods in military barracks to be required to make a declaration of allegiance to the State and its constitution, and, if so, what are the reasons for the practice, and whether the Minister considers it necessary to continue it.

It is the practice to require civilians about to be employed in military barracks to make the declaration referred to. I see no reason why it should be discontinued.
