Vol. 28 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repairs to Lahinch Promenade.

asked the President if a recommendation was made to the Department of Finance by him for a grant towards repairing the promenade at Lahinch, Co. Clare, in accordance with an undertaking given by him to a deputation of residents of that town when he visited it less than two years ago.

I found on making inquiries that the maintenance of the promenade at Lahinch is a matter within the powers of the County Council. The Department of Finance is not prepared to make moneys available for the purpose.

Mr. Hogan

Is the President aware that the County Council unanimously asked the President to receive a deputation in connection with the matter and that he declined to receive a deputation?

I do not think that the facts are as the Deputy says.
